The current focus of microelectronic research is centered around the integration of thin, fully relaxed germanium layers, silicon germanium mixed layers, and epitaxial insulators. In the field of photovoltaics, our efforts are concentrated on developing passivating contacts for highly efficient silicon solar cells and incorporating them into electrically powered delivery vehicles. Research Concept
Progress starts with the introduction of a novel material solution or concept. At MBE, analysis of a novel material's properties or concept's characteristics is typically conducted as part of final theses, such as master's theses and dissertations. If successful, this research can lead to publications in prestigious journals. Once the distinctive properties of the material or distinguishing features of a new concept are known, functional validation is pursued through the creation of prototypes. If the prototype is succesful, a transfer to industrial use is possible.
